Black History Month
8 February 2012
Consulate General Marseille celebrated Black History Month in Perpignan’s Mediatheque, before a French and American audience. American author Gail Milissa Grant discussed black history from the perspective of her book “At the Elbow of my Elders,” explaining the civil rights movement in the U.S. in the 20th century and the legacy of early civil rights leaders through the eyes of an astute observer and a politically active family. The Deputy Mayor for Culture introduced the presentation to a fairly large audience, despite the frigid temperature in Perpignan.
